Description:
Church of the Holy Trinity, Potelych village, Lviv region
Abstract:
The church was built in 1928-1936 by Alexander Pezhansky. It is a stone, five-story, cross-domed church.
Built in 1928-1936 in the village of Potelych in the Zhovkva district, a large brick church of the Holy Trinity was built by the efforts of the village's parish priest Mykhailo Dorotskyi and at the expense of parishioners. The building is one of the best realized projects of the famous Lviv architect Oleksandr Pezhansky. The windows of the church are decorated with stained-glass windows and lattices in the Art Deco style, designed by O. Pezhansky. The carved furnishings in the interior and the stone figures of Volodymyr the Great and Olga on the facade of the church were made by Andriy and Mykola Koverki.
